Managed Futures is an industry in which professional money managers (CTAs) direct investments in the global energy, precious metal, currency, commodity, equity and debt markets. They do this through the use of listed futures and options.  CTAs can take long or short positions and hold positions for months, or just minutes.  Sophisticated investors who have experienced recent financial volatility may appreciate the nimble, adaptive nature of managed futures as a component in their overall portfolio of stocks and bonds.
